The Nairobi Securities Exchange PLC (NSE) is the principal securities exchange in Kenya, providing trading platforms and infrastructure for equities, bonds, derivatives and other financial instruments. The Group earns revenue primarily through transaction levies on equity and bond trading, listing fees, data vending, and membership/broker back-office subscription services. Organised into two main reportable segments — the Cash Equities & Interest Rate Market and the Derivatives Market — NSE is itself listed on its own exchange and plays a central role in Kenya's capital markets infrastructure.
